Lebanon's Grand Mufti announces start of Ramadan on Saturday

Lebanon's Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdel Latif Derian announced that the first day of Ramadan for 1446 AH will be Saturday, March 1, 2025.

He stated that the decision was based on the consensus among Islamic scholars that if the crescent moon is sighted in one country, it applies to all others. The crescent moon marking the beginning of Ramadan was confirmed in several Arab and Islamic nations.
