Information Minister: Cabinet approves first step toward financial reform with banking secrecy law amendments

Following Thursday's Cabinet session, Information Minister Paul Morcos announced that the Lebanese government has approved, as a first step, a draft law amending the country's banking secrecy law.

The move comes as part of broader efforts to address Lebanon's financial gap and restore confidence in the banking sector.

Morcos added that the Cabinet will hold a special session on Friday to continue discussing the draft law on banking sector reform and finalize and approve it.
