Franjieh visits Gemayel in Bikfaya, discusses with him latest developments in Lebanon

The Kataeb party Central committee Coordinator MP Sami Gemayel received on Wednesday at his residence in Bikfaya the Marada Party Leader MP Sleiman Franjieh.        

During the meeting, the two officials discussed the political situation in Lebanon as well as the Syrian crisis and its repercussions on Lebanon stressing the importance of dissociating Lebanon from the crisis.                

The two officials also tackled the electoral file and the importance of reaching an electoral law since the upcoming parliamentary elections are considered as a major constitutional process that keep the country away from political void.             

Following the meeting, MP Franjieh said that the March 8 demands regarding the formation of the cabinet are righteous adding that “those claiming to be independent are not since they politically affiliated to a certain group”.         

For his part, MP Gemayel highlighted the necessity of communications between various political factions since dialogue is the only means to reach consensus.
             
Gemayel added that he agreed with Franjieh on the importance of distancing Lebanon from the events taking place in Syria.        

“Our stance regarding the Syrian situation is different than that of Franjieh, but we both agree on the importance of distancing Lebanon from the crisis,” Gemayel concluded.
