Wiam Wahhab to LBCI: "Gangs" hinder adoption of new electoral draft law

Tawhid Party leader Wiam Wahhab announced on Saturday that the extension of the parliament's mandate became a "necessity" to spare Lebanon "political vacuum."

In an interview with LBCI's Nharkom Said TV Show, Wahhab noted that Speaker Nabih Berri exerted all possible efforts to reach a common ground over a "consensual draft law".

Wahhab assumed the Lebanese people responsible for electing  the "gangs" which hindered the adoption of new electoral law.

He also added that the extension of the parliament's mandate is an introduction to extending the mandate of the Lebanese Armed Forces Commander Jean Kahwagi.

Wahhab undermined the possibility of former Prime Minister Saad Hariri returning to Lebanon before reaching a compromise with March 8 alliance over premiership.
