Egypt condemns Israeli escalation policy and warns of severe security consequences on region

Egypt condemned Wednesday the Israeli escalation policy over the past two days and warned of severe security consequences for the region.

In a statement, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said, "Egypt considers this serious escalation as a warning of the risks of igniting confrontation in the region, leading to severe security consequences."

It warned that regional escalation "undermines the strenuous efforts made by Egypt and its partners to stop the war in the Gaza Strip."
