IAEA chief says hopes to visit Iran soon for 'constructive dialogue' with new president

UN nuclear watchdog chief Rafael Grossi expressed his hope to visit Iran soon to meet recently elected President Masoud Pezeshkian and kickstart their dialogue, according to a report by AFP on Thursday.

Tensions between Iran and the IAEA have repeatedly flared since a 2015 deal curbing Tehran's nuclear program in exchange for sanction relief fell apart.

In the report, Grossi said with the visit, he hoped for the "establishment of a fluid, constructive dialogue that swiftly leads to concrete results."
