France calls for an end to fighting in Syria, urges peaceful transition

France welcomed the news of the fall of President Bashar al-Assad's regime on Sunday, calling for an end to the fighting and urging a peaceful political transition in the country.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, "Now is the time for unity in Syria."
