War monitor says unexploded ordnance caused deadly blast on Syria coast

Unexploded ordnance triggered a blast in the Syrian coastal city of Latakia on Saturday, a war monitor said, after state media reported three deaths in the explosion.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights described the blast as an "accident" resulting from a resident's attempt to dismantle unexploded ordnance in the building.
