REPORT: Controversial stances within Future bloc regarding Abra video

Sheikh Ahmad al-Assir escaped and left behind a video that can serve as clear evidence to his conviction. From this video, the Lebanese Armed Forces leadership agreed to display only a few parts and only during the closed meeting held by the National defense Parliamentary Committee.

The LAF Command decided not to release this video and to keep it confidential.

In this context, MP Khaled Daher told LBCI that both sides [in reference to al-Assir’s supporters and the army] were subject to gunfire, adding that “the video was cut and without a voice”.

On the other hand, MP Bassem al-Chab said that the video shows the “excellent work performed by the Lebanese army and proves that the army did not attack al-Assir.”

This report will shed light on the controversial positions launched regarding the said video displayed during the session of the national defense committee.
