REPORT: Manal Assi’s husband to seek mitigating factors

After 48 hours of fruitless raid operations in the region of Tareeq al-Jdideh, Manale Assi’s husband, who is accused of beating his wife to death, decided to turn himself in to the authorities in Beirut, following the issuance of the medical report by the coroner who examined the victim, before and after her death.

According to well-informed judicial sources, the medical report indicates that the cause of death has been proved to be violent beating that led to severe bleeding.

The defense attorney of the accused will be seeking mitigating factors in order to reduce the sentence.
