REPORT: Snow covers mountainous regions across Lebanon, blocks various roads

Snow covered on Thursday the highlands and mountainous regions across Lebanon, blocking most roads as winter storm Zeina continued to batter the country for the third consecutive day.

The storm has also caused massive damage to properties and plastic agricultural tents, while high winds have toppled billboards and damaged cars.

Roads

The Directorate General of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division, as well as the Traffic Management Center (TMC) stated that the Sannine-Zahle roads and all Baskinta roads are blocked due to the accumulation of snow while the road of Dhour Choueir is only passable for equipped vehicles.

The report also said that the Bekfya road remains open; however, that of Dahr el-Baydar is blocked due to heavy snowfall.

It also noted that the Majdel Tarshish-Zahle, Faraya-Ouyoun el-Siman-Hadath Baalbek, Hasbaya-Rashaya-Mashghara, Lehfed-Meshmesh, Bhamdoun-Mdayrej-Dahr El-Baydar-Chtoura as well as the roads of Rashaya are all blocked due to the accumulation of snow.
