REPORT: Heavy rains wash away Beirut’s uncollected trash
Piles of uncollected trash washed up on Sunday along the streets of Beirut after heavy rains that caused flooding.

In this regard, videos and photos posted on social media platforms showed hundreds of trash bags being washed away by flood waters.

Lebanon has been grappling with a waste crisis following the July 17 closure of the Naameh landfill.

This has led to the piling up of garbage on the streets of the capital and other areas.

Experts have long warned of the dangers of the lingering crisis on the environment and people's health.
