President Aoun meets Patriarch Rai

President Michel Aoun met on Friday with Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rai at the Baabda Presidential Palace.

Following the meeting, Rai stressed importance of understanding between the president and the prime minister-designate “no matter what the circumstances are.”

He also noted that the formation of a new government “is the sole gateway for reforms.”
“It is unacceptable for the paralyzed country to stay with a caretaker government,” he added.

The patriarch concluded by voicing rejection to the “campaign launched against President Aoun.”
