Since Secretary General of the Arab Socialist Baath Party in Lebanon Ali Hijaz announced his candidature for one of the six Shiite seats in the Baalbek-Hermel constituency, the most pressing question has been: Did Hezbollah abandon its ally MP Jamil al-Sayyed, who won on the list of the Hezbollah-Amal Movement in 2018 after running for the same seat as Hijazi?
