Rai calls for swift formation of a new government

Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rai urged on Sunday the political powers that believe in a free, independent, strong, and steadfast Lebanon to set aside their conflicts and interests and provide political stability, not only for the sake of forming a government and electing a new President of the Republic, but also to ward off any regional danger from Lebanon.

Rai made his remarks during his Sunday sermon, emphasizing the importance of completing the executive authority in order to complete the upcoming entitlements, such as negotiations with the International Monetary Fund and talks to demarcate the southern maritime borders, on which the fate of oil and gas wealth depends.
