Through the judicial and security frameworks, Cable Vision (CV) is determined to prosecute the illegal local cable distributors who are broadcasting TV channels that the company has the exclusive right to distribute.
Judicial prosecution has started against 21 illegal cable distributors rebroadcasting CV’s exclusive channels illegally in return for a fee from citizens.
The Office of Cybercrime and Intellectual Property is leading the investigation under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor, Judge Ghassan Khoury.
The office raided two distribution stations that were illegally broadcasting exclusive TV channels. The office found that equipment had been removed before the raid.
Some of the defendants were summoned to The Office of Cybercrime and Intellectual Property, and those who appeared signed a pledge not to violate the rights of CV and were given a deadline to settle the situation with the company.
As for the defendants who were summoned and did not appear, measures will be taken against them. Those who refuse to comply will have their local broadcasting stations closed with red wax.
CV pays fees to OSN, M6, and MBC companies in return for obtaining the exclusive right in Lebanon.
