US 'did not launch strikes' in Iraq on Friday, Pentagon says

The US Central Command in the Middle East (CENTCOM) announced that the United States "did not carry out strikes" in Iraq on Friday.

CENTCOM wrote on the X platform, "We are aware of information alleging that the United States conducted airstrikes in Iraq today. This information is incorrect," referring to the "shelling" that targeted a military base in central Iraq.
