UN seeks to calm tensions in Al Fashir, Sudan, following reports of potential attack

A United Nations spokesperson said on Friday that the organization is increasingly concerned about rising tensions in the city of Al Fashir in Sudan's North Darfur state, amid reports that the Rapid Support Forces are surrounding the city, indicating a potential imminent attack.

The spokesperson added that the UN Secretary-General's envoy, António Guterres, is in contact with all parties to calm tensions in the region.
