Russian trial of US journalist Evan Gershkovich resumes Thursday

The espionage trial of US journalist Evan Gershkovich will resume Thursday, a Russian court said Tuesday, almost a month earlier than expected.

A regional court in the city of Yekaterinburg said on its website that the next hearing in the closed-door trial of the Wall Street Journal reporter will be Thursday at 11:00 am (0600 GMT), moved forward from August 13.
