Kremlin says Vadim Krasikov, freed by Germany, is an FSB operative

The Kremlin on Friday confirmed that Vadim Krasikov, freed by Germany in Thursday's prisoner swap deal, is an operative with Russia's FSB security service.

"Krasikov is an FSB employee," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters, adding that the operative, convicted of killing a Chechen separatist commander in Berlin in 2019, served in the agency's elite "Alpha" unit.
