France's Macron says supports Venezuelans pursuing 'transparent' vote

France's President Emmanuel Macron Monday said he and Brazil's leader Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva supported Venezuelan voters who hoped for a fair election after last month's contested presidential vote.

"We... back the aspiration of the Venezuelan people towards a transparent election. This requirement is at the heart of any democracy," he wrote in a social media post, after a phone call with the Brazilian president.
