Pentagon approves providing support to Secret Service during US elections

On Thursday, the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) announced that Secretary Lloyd Austin has approved a request to provide the Secret Service with additional military support capabilities specifically for the presidential and vice-presidential candidates during the upcoming elections.

Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh did not detail the type of support to be provided but mentioned that Austin has directed US Northern Command to plan and deliver this support to the Secret Service at multiple locations during the elections.
