North Korea fires 'unidentified ballistic missile,' says Seoul military

North Korea fired an "unidentified ballistic missile" into waters east of the Korean peninsula on Thursday, Seoul's military reported, saying an analysis was underway and not giving further details.

Pyongyang "launched an unidentified ballistic missile towards the East Sea," Seoul's Joint Chief of Staff said, referring to the body of water also known as the Sea of Japan. Japan's coastguard also warned vessels of a possible launch.
