New NATO chief Rutte says 'not worried' about US election

Incoming NATO chief Mark Rutte said Tuesday he could work with whoever wins the upcoming US presidential election, as departing boss Jens Stoltenberg declared the alliance in "safe hands" before a handover ceremony.

"I'm not worried. I know both candidates very well. I worked for four years with Donald Trump," Rutte said, shortly before he officially became NATO secretary general.
