Netanyahu thanks Trump for his assistance in Gaza agreement

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a statement from his office, expressed gratitude to U.S. President-elect Donald Trump during a phone call for helping secure an agreement to release hostages, ''ending the suffering of dozens of hostages and their families.''

Netanyahu also agreed to meet with Trump soon in Washington.

Additionally, he thanked U.S. President Joe Biden for his assistance in the deal during a separate phone call.
