Royal Navy tracking 'Russian spy ship' in UK waters, Defense Ministry says

British Defense Secretary John Healey told parliament on Wednesday that the Royal Navy was tracking a "Russian spy ship" in UK waters.

"The foreign ship Yantar is in the North Sea, having passed through British waters. Let me be clear, this is a Russian spy ship used for gathering intelligence and mapping the UK's critical underwater infrastructure," he told lawmakers, adding this was the second time the vessel had entered UK waters in recent months.
