China says 'happy' to see US, Russia 'strengthen communication' after Ukraine peace talk reports

On Thursday, China said it was "happy" to see the United States and Russia "strengthen communication" after President Donald Trump said he expected to meet his Russian counterpart for Ukraine peace talks.

"Russia and the United States are both major influential countries. China is happy to see Russia and the U.S. strengthen communication and dialogue on international issues," foreign ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun told a regular press briefing.
