Italian official visits Ministers Abou Assi, Hassan Khalil

The Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Vincenzo Amendola met on Tuesday with Social Affairs Minister Pierre Abou Assi to discuss means of cooperation between the two countries on several levels.

Abou Assi urged the international community to support Lebanon over the Syrian refugee crisis and Lebanon's infrastructure.

Amendola also met with Finance Minister Ali Hassan Khalil.

A statement issued by Khalil's media office said that both officials discussed the role of UNIFIL's Italian contingent in south Lebanon and other issues of mutual interests for the two countries.

Amendola arrived on Monday in Beirut on a two-day official visit.
