Jordanian Foreign Affairs Minister Ayman Safadi stressed that opening the Nassib crossing at the border with Syria, which has been closed since three years, will be opened after reaching agreement over all necessary arrangements.
Following his meeting with Lebanese FM Gebran Bassil in Amman, the minister did not determine a date for the reopening of the border crossing.
In turn, Bassil said jokingly that he hoped the crossing will be opened the soonest possible, “so that the Jordanians can eat Lebanese apples soon.”
This comes after the Syrian Transport Minister announced on September 29 that the Nassib border crossing will be opened on October 10 after finalizing all logistical preparations from the Syrian side.
