Minister Serhan to LBCI: Anti-corruption slogan will be translated on the ground
Minister of Justice Adel Serhan said on Friday that the slogan of anti-corruption will not remain in theory but will be translated on the ground.

“We will witness in the near future serious and rapid steps that restore the citizens ‘confidence in this country," he said during an interview with LBCI.

Serhan also asserted that the Ministry of Justice is supposed to be “the spearhead in the fight against corruption,” adding that work will focus on the coordination and cooperation with all apparatuses and ministries in this regard."

On another note, Serhan asserted that the aim of the Ministry of Anti-Corruption’s abolition is not to backtrack on fighting corruption, but to make it “the task of every ministry in this government.”

Lebanon formed a new national unity government on Thursday, ending nine months of wrangling, and Prime Minister Saad Hariri said bold moves were needed without delay to address chronic problems facing the heavily indebted state.
