How does the Lebanese army usually receive military aid?

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah suggested in his speech on Wednesday to provide the Lebanese army with weapons from Iran, offering to go personally there and bring an aerial defense system for the Lebanese army.

Back in 2014, Iranian Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani said during a visit to Beirut that Iran will offer a grant to the Lebanese army, which raised a wide controversy and debate on the local scene. This has happened repeatedly before.

The same thing also happened with the Russian assistance.

90% of the army’s equipment in Lebanon comes from foreign grants, with the majority being offered by the United States, followed by France, Netherlands, Germany, Italy and Greece, as well as Arab States including Jordan and the United Arab Emirates.
