MP Alain Aoun said Wednesday that he expects to finalize the cabinet formation process within the upcoming 48 hours.
In a phone call with LBCI, Aoun stressed the need to finalize the cabinet formation issue in order to move the other pressing matters in the country.
“The Free Patriotic Movement will not directly participate in the government, but there will be an exchange of opinion regarding the proposed names and this comes within the role of our bloc in granting the cabinet our vote of confidence,” he explained.
On the issue of the telecommunications sector, answering a question concerning the statement of caretaker Telecom Minister Mohammad Choucair who said that Baabda palace suspended a letter to approve returning the sector to the state, the deputy pointed out that “when Choucair sent several propositions, he was informed that he has the power, without approval, to take the appropriate decision in this matter.”
