Hezbollah reiterates commitment to Mar Mikhael agreement on its 12th anniversary

On the 12th anniversary of the agreement between President Michel Aoun and Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah at Mar Mikhael Church, Hezbollah stressed the importance of this historic event that paved a new road on the Lebanese scene, the effectiveness of which has been proven along the stages that Lebanon has been through since the July war of 2006, up until the war on terror over the past few years.

In a statement issued on the occasion, the party said that bringing together the hearts, the minds and the wills of two major parties in Lebanon has had crucial effects in achieving security, civil peace and political stability and had a major role in treating many issues on the local scene.

“Mar Mikhael agreement was not only a meeting between political leaders, but it has proven over the past years that it constitutes a convergence opportunity and a bridge of acquaintance and trust between the bases of Hezbollah and the Free Patriotic Movement,” the statement read, adding that this what makes this agreement of utmost importance.

The Shiite party reiterated its commitment to this agreement, stressing it will remain standing until the main goals will be achieved and until Lebanon starts moving forwards towards a better future.
