The Lebanese Armed Forces command confirmed the death of four of the Syrian nationals that were detained during the operation conducted by the army in refugee camps in Arsal.
The command said that the nationals died of chronic illnesses that worsened due to the weather before the interrogations had started.
In a statement issued by the Lebanese army, the command said that the medical exam that is regularly performed for all detainees under the supervision of the concerned judiciary, showed that a number of these detainees were suffering from chronic illnesses that worsened due to the weather conditions.
Therefore, they were immediately admitted to hospitals to receive medical treatment prior to interrogations; but their health conditions deteriorated and they died.
The Syrians who passed were identified Mustafa Abdel Karim Abse, Khaled Hussein al-Mles, Uns Hussein al-Husseiki and Othman Merhi al-Mles.
