Prime Minister Hassan Diab declared on Monday the start of “war on corruption,” adding that the battle is “long and hard.”
“Despite that we will be subjected to accusations, treachery and insults, and the corrupt will try to protect themselves with political and sectarian cloaks, we will not stop the war,” Diad stressed in front of supervisory committees. Diab also noted that corruption has caused “the collapse of the country.” The prime minister concluded by saying that the system of corruption “became stronger than the state itself.”
