Swiss recognize 'crime against humanity' over itinerant groups' treatment

Switzerland's government on Thursday acknowledged that its past treatment of the Yenish and Sinti communities amounted to a "crime against humanity."

Its statement referred to the forced placement of some 2,000 children from those communities with other families -- a practice that continued until 1981.
