Israeli army's 162nd division launches operations to 'thwart terrorism' in Jabalia, northern Gaza

Israeli Army spokesperson Avichay Adraee posted on 'X' on Sunday that the 162nd Division has initiated military operations to 'thwart terrorism' in the Jabalia area, located in northern Gaza.

"Last night, forces from the 162nd Division began operations in the Jabalia region following prior intelligence reports and ongoing assessments of the situation in the field, which indicated the presence of militants and terrorist infrastructure in the area, as well as attempts by Hamas to restore terrorist frameworks," Adraee stated.

He noted that "combat teams from the 401st and 460th brigades have completed the encirclement of the area to continue operations."

Before the operation began, "Air Force units attacked dozens of military targets to support maneuvering forces, including weapons depots, underground structures, and additional militant cells and military infrastructure," the spokesperson claimed.

"The operation will continue as necessary with systematic strikes and a comprehensive destruction of terrorist infrastructure in the region," Adraee concluded.
