France expresses concern over Israeli military operation in Jenin

France expressed concern on Wednesday over an Israeli military operation this week in the West Bank city of Jenin, which left at least nine Palestinians killed, and called on Israel to exercise restraint.

In a statement, the French Foreign Ministry said Minister Jean-Noël Barrot would raise the issue of settlers in the West Bank during the European Union meeting scheduled for January 27.
