Sheikh Qaouk: Assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan al-Laqis crime against entire nation

Deputy Head of Hezbollah's executive council Sheikh Nabil Qaouk described on Saturday the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan al-Laqis as a crime against the Lebanese nation and an attack on Lebanon’s sovereignty, adding that "Israel fears a direct confrontation with Hezbollah."

Sheikh Qaouk called on March 14 forces to realize that targeting the Resistance is increasing the Israeli attacks on Lebanon, stressing that "the country is currently facing a new challenge which is the Isreali - Takfiri alliance."

“Members from Al-Qaeda, along with others from the Al-Nusra Front and the Abdullah Azzam brigades are now in Lebanon,” Sheikh Qaouk said, pointing out that all Lebanese citizens are facing the threat of terrorism.

In this regard, Sheikh Qaouk called on all Lebanese nationals to face the Isreali – Takfiri threat by forming a national unity cabinet that maintains Lebanon’s stability.

Qaouk added that "it has become known that March 14 forces are supporting armed groups in Tripoli," adding that these forces should bear the responsibility of attacks against Lebanese Armed Forces and innocent civilians in northern Lebanese city.
