Dangerous criminal, Ali Khodor Jaafar, arrested by LAF- Army Command

The Army Command- Orientation Directorate announced on Saturday that one of the most dangerous fugitives was arrested, as part of the tight security measures undertaken by Lebanese army units in Bekaa.

Ali Khodor Jaafar, known as Ali al-Chaar, is wanted on kidnapping charges and accused of attacking members of the security forces.

Chaar is also involved with the gangs of detainees Abbas Jaafar and Ali al-Masri, in the abduction of Lebanese and Gulf nationals at gunpoint.

The clansman who ambushed and killed 4 soldiers and severely injured one officer back in 2009, is involved in two attacks against Internal Security Forces patrols in Baalbek, killing scores of soldiers.

He is also wanted on numerous arrest warrants for being affiliated with a drug trafficking gang and using light and medium weapons.

Investigations are underway with the detainee under the supervision of the concerned judiciary.
