Berri: New government might see the light in days if atmosphere stays positive

Speaker Nabih Berri said on Wednesday that the new government might see the light in the next 4 or 5 days if the current positive atmosphere remained unchanged.

On another note, Berri stressed that the ongoing negotiations on the sea border are “exclusively for the purpose of affirming Lebanon's rights to invest in its full wealth without any addition or decrease.”

"It is not possible to accept that the demarcation negotiations will lead to normalization with Israel,” Berri asserted to a visiting delegation formed of Saint Joseph University’s students.

The speaker also noted that the implementation of reforms start with the electricity dossier which has cost the state’s Treasury more than 62 percent of the deficit’s percentage.

Berri also voiced optimism about Lebanon’s future, adding that the country "is rich in the capabilities of its citizens and has also a huge oil wealth in its waters. "
