Majzoub informed by Lebanon's Ambassador to Belgium of decision to exempt students from registration fees
Caretaker Minister of Education, Tarek al-Majzoub, received on Sunday from the Foreign Ministry a copy of the cable sent by Lebanon’s Ambassador to Belgium, Fadi Hajj Ali, in which he revealed the success of the efforts of the Lebanese diplomatic mission in reaching an agreement to exempt Lebanese students registered in the universities of the Federation of Wallonia - Brussels from registration fees for the academic year 2020-2021.

Ambassador Hajj Ali attached to his cable a letter issued by the Council of Deans of the Federal Universities of Wallonia - Brussels, disclosing that the diplomatic efforts of the Lebanese mission and the visits it carried out to various universities yielded the approval of these universities and higher education institutions in this major province to exempt Lebanese students from paying their registration fees for the current academic year, amounting to 4175 Euros per student annually, and replacing them by the fees paid by Belgian students amounting to 835 Euros per student, thus saving 3340 Euros per student.

In his cable, the Lebanese Ambassador also stated that the mission is currently communicating with universities on the Flemish side, where the study is in English, with the aim of reaching a similar agreement.
