Mufti Derian meets Saudi ambassador Boukhari

Grand Mufti Abdel Latif Derian met on Monday with Saudi ambassador to Lebanon Walid Boukhari at the Dar al-Fatwa.

Talks reportedly tackled the latest developments in Lebanon and the entire region.

Mufti Derandan lauded the efforts made by Saudi Arabia in consolidating the culture of moderation and supporting the causes of the Arab and Islamic nations, and championing truth and justice in the world.”

H also raised the kingdom’s role in taking care of Lebanon and the Lebanese people, as well as enhancing the security, safety and stability of Lebanon.

For his part, Boukhari stressed that Saudi Arabia supports the strengthening of unity and rapprochement among the Lebanese, and rejects attempts to exploit Islam as a cover for political purposes that fuel hatred, extremism and terrorism.
