The National Center for Geophysics, part of the National Council for Scientific Research, reported that it recorded a 5.1 magnitude earthquake at 11:55 PM local time on Monday, August 12, 2024.

The earthquake's epicenter was in the Hama region of Syria, and it was felt by a significant number of people in Lebanon.
