Hezbollah issues preliminary statement after pager explosions

Preliminary Statement Issued by Hezbollah:

At approximately 3:30 PM on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, several message-receiving devices, known as "pagers," exploded. These devices were in the possession of various personnel working within Hezbollah's units and institutions. These mysterious explosions, whose causes remain unclear, resulted in the death of a young girl and two brothers, in addition to numerous others sustaining various injuries.

Hezbollah's specialized security and scientific teams are currently conducting a wide-scale investigation to uncover the reasons behind these simultaneous explosions. Additionally, medical and health teams are treating the wounded and injured in several hospitals across different regions of Lebanon.

We ask Allah Almighty to grant mercy to our righteous martyrs on the path to Jerusalem, and we pray for the swift recovery of the wounded and injured. We urge our honorable people to remain cautious of rumors and false information being spread by certain parties as part of psychological warfare serving the Zionist enemy. This comes in conjunction with the enemy's threats and intimidation, particularly concerning what they refer to as changing the situation in the north.

We reaffirm that the resistance, at all levels and across its various units, is in a state of maximum readiness to defend Lebanon and its steadfast people.
