Lebanon's Prime Minister Mikati thanks Iraq, Turkey for support, praises Lebanon's unity and medical response

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati received a call from Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid, who expressed solidarity with Lebanon during its current crisis.

Rashid affirmed that "Iraq is putting all its resources toward supporting Lebanon to overcome what it experienced on Tuesday."

The prime minister thanked the Iraqi president for his "compassion," affirming that "Lebanon appreciates Iraq's continued support."

He also thanked Rashid for sending a medical team and a shipment of medical aid to Lebanon on Wednesday morning to support relief efforts.

Mikati also received a call from Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, who conveyed greetings from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and expressed solidarity with Lebanon during this challenging time.

Fidan also conveyed Turkey's readiness to provide Lebanon with all necessary assistance to overcome the crisis.

Mikati expressed Lebanon's "gratitude and appreciation" to all the countries that have shown solidarity during these difficult times, including Jordan, Iraq, Turkey, Egypt, Syria, and Iran.

He praised the "national unity that was evident yesterday after the grave incident," affirming that "this unity is the strongest response to the Israeli aggression against Lebanon and its people."

Mikati praised Lebanon's medical personnel—hospitals, doctors, nurses, paramedics, and administrators—for their exemplary response since the attack, affirming their dedication and showing the strength of the national spirit and the importance of humanitarian values.

He also praised Health Minister Firas Abiad and the ministry for their "extraordinary work in managing this severe medical crisis that Lebanon is facing," adding that the Lebanese people will overcome it through solidarity and unity.

Mikati received an update from the Health Minister on the ongoing relief and medical efforts since the aggressive attack on Lebanon on Tuesday.
