UN chief says 'civilian objects' should not be weaponized

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said Wednesday that civilian objects should not be weaponized following a deadly wave of explosions across Lebanon targeting pagers used by Hezbollah.

Guterres emphasized the importance of controlling civilian objects and ensuring they are not used as weapons. "This should be a rule that governments are able to implement," he said at a briefing at UN headquarters.
