Israeli army announces strikes on Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon

The Israeli army announced on Thursday that its aircraft and artillery struck several targets in southern Lebanon overnight, amid escalating tensions following significant attacks this week on communication devices used by Hezbollah.

The army said the airstrikes hit Hezbollah targets in Chihine, Taybeh, Blida, Meiss El Jabal, Aitaroun, and Kfarkela in southern Lebanon, as well as a Hezbollah weapons storage facility in Khiam.

Israeli media reported that several Israeli civilians were injured by anti-tank missile fire from Lebanon, although no official confirmation has been released.

These latest Israeli strikes come after growing concerns about an escalation of the conflict along the southern Lebanon border, where Israeli forces and Hezbollah have been exchanging fire for months.

The army added that Hezbollah fired around 20 shells at Israel on Wednesday, most of which were intercepted by air defense systems without causing any injuries.
