Zafer Nasser urges ceasefire as priority amid 'Israeli blockade' on Lebanon"

Zafer Nasser, the Secretary-General of the Progressive Socialist Party, emphasized that a ceasefire is a priority.

He noted that there is currently no diplomatic solution in sight, particularly as some countries view Israel's actions as self-defense.

In an interview with LBCI, Nasser stated, "There is an effective Israeli blockade on Lebanon, and the return of displaced individuals is contingent upon a ceasefire and the end of the war."

"However, I fear that there will be no settlement and that the final word will be in the field, especially since Israel is fully invested in the American elections, despite the unified American decision regarding Israel," he continued.

Nasser also discussed the need for a defensive strategy regarding arms. He argued that contentious issues with negative domestic implications should be addressed through understanding and dialogue rather than escalating tensions.

Regarding Lebanon's presidential election, Nasser highlighted that the process should be resolved through consensus among the Lebanese people, whether in peace or war.
