Israeli airstrike targets road between Lebanon and Syria

An Israeli airstrike on Thursday targeted a road connecting eastern Lebanon to the Homs region in central Syria, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. The strike followed Israeli attacks on Syria's Homs and Hama provinces the day before.

The Observatory said the airstrike hit a road near the town of Hawsh al-Sayyid Ali, located in al-Qusayr region near the Syrian-Lebanese border. There were no immediate reports of casualties or whether the road was blocked as a result of the strike.

Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported that the strike targeted a crossing near a Lebanese Army checkpoint in Hawsh al-Sayyid Ali, causing material damage.

Rami Abdul Rahman, head of the Observatory, told AFP that the airstrike was part of Israel’s efforts to "cut Hezbollah's supply routes" in the area.
